Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) | |
Birds I have never been a birdwatcher but the prospect of catching decent photographs of our local birdlife has encouraged me to spend many hours behind a telephoto lens. Pictures in this gallery were mainly taken in the garden or at the local bird hide in Coombe Park; other locations include the Cotswold Falconry centre, Grooby Pool, and Sherringham beach. Photographing birds For the smaller birds, robins, finches, tits and the like I generally use a Canon 400mm lens on a tripod, sometimes with a short extension tube to allow for closer focusing.
