Taken from Beacon Hill, the highest accessible point in Leicestershire, on a cold windy morning just after dawn.
I went for sunrise shots but they were a bit disappointing. This picture though, showing valleys filled with early morning autumn mist, made fine compensation.
Shot against the light this is an example of the layered look, ever popular with landscape photographers.
Three exposures bracketed 1.5 stops apart were blended and tone mapped in Photomatix-pro, then the result was further edited in Lightroom.
