Sparrows are mainly seed-eaters, though they also eat small insects. A few species scavenge for food around cities and will happily eat virtually anything in small quantities.
This bird occurs naturally Europe, the Mediterranean, and much of Asia. It has also been introduced to many parts of the world, making it the most widely distributed wild bird. The sparrow is a small bird, with feathers mostly different shades of brown and grey.
