![]() Woodland photography more aspiration than fact | The woodland collection Sort of landscapes taken in the woods. I was born and lived until I was 7 on a smallholding with two orchards attached. Maybe that is why I feel so relaxed and at peace when walking in woodland. There are occasions when walking in the woods that one comes across special areas, particular parts of the wood that have an ambiance, an almost palpable magic. Being photographically inclined it should come as no surprise to hear that I try to capture that magic in the camera. It never quite works. I know the reason, of course, the magic that really is there, is in the form of sound and smell and air movement just as much as it is in what can be seen. In fact you can even close your eyes and still be aware of being engulfed, surrounded by trees, be aware of that special presence I have called magic. Despite reason and common sense I will still try, and maybe one day, you never know, I might succeed. | |
