These are the ruins of Bradgate House once the home of the Grey family. It is the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey, late queen of England who ruled for only 9 days before being executed on 12 February 1554.
Despite only managing to achieve the age of about 17 she had a reputation as one of the most learned women of her day.
